Version 4.0 Upgrade

Backup for Workgroups Version 4.0 is now available!  Major new features include:  Vista support, support for backing up network shares, support for remote desktop and better file change detection.

Existing users can take one of 2 upgrade paths - Standard or Premium. The Standard upgrade path allows current users to patch their existing software to take advantage of all bug fixes, all at no charge. The Premium upgrade path allows existing users to take advantage of additional features - for a small upgrade fee.

Instructions on How to Upgrade Your Backup for Workgroups Installation to Version 4.0:

There is only ONE setup program to download.  It does not matter if you go with the Standard Upgrade or the Premium Upgrade, you install the same software in either case.  You will need to download the new BFW Setup Program, and use this Setup program to update your Data Repository first, and then use it again to update all your Backup Clients.  You will not need to re-boot your system at any point during the updating process.

Standard Upgrade:  You will not receive any new License Numbers. Your existing License Numbers will continue to be valid and the software will continue to operate as normal.

Premium Upgrade:  After your order is processed, you will receive a new License Number that you enter into your Data Repository Manager to unlock the Premium features.

1. Go to the computer running the Data Repository Manager.
2. Run the Data Repository Manager software.
3. Go to Tools>Licensing.
4. Look at the list of License Keys.
5. If you see a license key that starts with "BW300...." you have the 3.0 Premium version. If you do not see a license key that starts with "BW300..." you have an older version and should purchase the Version 4.0 Premium Upgrade today!
