Add-On Product Chart

Backup for Workgroups has several Add-On products that can be used in conjunction with the Backup Client to expand support to include specific types of data.  Some Add-Ons only run under certain operating systems, so check the chart below to see which Add-Ons are right for you.

The Backup for Workgroups Add-On products are included in the Backup for Workgroups 30-day trial download.  You can use any of the Add-On products during your evaluation.

Add-On products are sold on a per-Client basis, so plan on purchasing an Add-On License for each Windows server you wish to use it on.  For example, let's say you are backing up two Windows 2003 servers.  You should consider purchasing two Client Licenses and two Open File Add-On Licenses and you are covered.

Backing Up Windows 2000 or NT Servers?

For legacy Windows Servers running NT or 2000, the Open File Add-On cannot be used.  For these servers, you can use the "Start/Stop Services" feature available in the Backup Client software which allows you to tell Backup for Workgroups to shut down certain services so all of the files associated with that service are in a closed state and available to backup.
